The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is making my bucket list grow

Last week I drove all the way to Charlotte (4.5 hours away) to meet Alexandra Tollman! Alex is the granddaughter of Beatrice and Stanley Tollman who started the Travel Corporation (Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Red Carnation Hotels, Trafalgar Tours, Contiki Tours, Brendan Vacations, and many more!). The Tollman family story began in South Africa in the 50s (a place always close to my heart!) and I admire how far they have come from their humble beginnings. To this day they are a family run business and their motto is ‘No request is too large, no detail too small’. Having just done a Uniworld river cruise in May I can attest that they really do live by that motto even after all these years.

Alex lives in London where six of the Red Carnation Hotels are located and she shared with us some really unique experience that guests of their hotels can have. I have several clients traveling to London next year and now I can’t wait to reach out to Alex and make their time in London extra special and unique. The top 3 hotels on TripAdvisor in London are all Red Carnation Hotels which is no small feat considering there are thousands of hotels in a big city like London.

They also have hotels in South Africa, Botswana, Guernsey, Switzerland, Scotland, Ireland, and Palm Beach, FL. One of their most impressive properties is Ashford Castle in Ireland. This castle once belonged to the Guinness family and dates back to 1228! The Tollman family has fully restored it and it is now a 5-star property set on 350 acres on the picturesque shores of Lough Corrib. A bucket list place for sure! I love working in the travel industry. The only problem is learning about all of these amazing places makes your bucket list about a million miles long! I may not get to them all but I will have fun trying.

Here are some pictures of a few of the hotels in the Red Carnation Hotel Collection:
